It might sound unusual to ask for donation when the camp serves over 1500 kids a summer: Why does one of the largest camps in the area need to ask for financial support from its users?
WKYC is set up differently from almost every other camp facility. We have a small number of paid staff, just a caretaker and lifeguards. WKYC’s founders wanted the fees for campers to remain low so more children could access the love of Jesus Christ. The fees have remained low and just cover campers cost for each week. These fees do not cover our annual expenses and we rely on donations from Christians in the area to meet the needs of the camp.
At its core WKYC is driven to provide Christian values to children of this area.
But WKYC is more than a campsite. We share a common cause: Imagine a community in which children are given access to the love, grace, and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. That's our commitment.
Your donation helps us in several ways. Most importantly, you help us cover the cost of managing the areas most used Christian camp facility. Funds also help us improve the camp making it the place future children can use. We are committed to growing the knowledge of Jesus Christ, by maintaining the values of our founding members, and developing the camp for the future needs of the community.
We invite you to join us: Your donation will help keep WKYC fees to a minimum and insure we are able to bring the message of Jesus Christ to more children.
Thank you,
WKYC, Board of Directors
